Ringing in the Spring with Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings has served as a vital partner for Boys & Girls of Columbus by supporting sports programming, engaging with our youth by coming to our Clubs, and hosting Community Day every year.

Last week, our friends at Buffalo Wild Wings spent an evening at our South Side Club to treat members to a catered experience. The Buffalo Wild Wings team consisted of 25 restaurant managers from across the city who arrived eager to meet our youth, provide dinner, and participate in an adults vs. kids basketball game.

Wings, potato wedges, salad, and vegetables were all served in anticipation of the upcoming Community Day, held on April 19th. By coming into the Club, managers witnessed the huge impact that their investment has on our kids firsthand. Their support ranges from donated cafeteria furniture, to sponsoring our ALL STARS sports leagues, to supporting healthy lifestyles in our youth every day through contributions from in-store fundraisers.

The basketball game was anticipated by members and BWW staff for weeks leading up to the event. One member dubiously sized up the competition and shared with the staff, “I hope you guys know you are about to lose.” Though score wasn’t kept during the game, all participating athletes were surprised by the other team’s skill by the final buzzer.

Wednesday’s Community Day was a partnership in which all Columbus BWW restaurants donated 10% of their sales to Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus. Members were transported to the restaurants to enjoy a meal and thank staff and guests alike for supporting Columbus kids. The restaurants also hosted a voting poll in which patrons could select their favorite BWW logo colored by a member with the winning member earning a $25 BWW giftcard. At one restaurant, kids had the opportunity to shadow servers and take an inside tour of the back kitchen.

Buffalo Wild Wings’ relationship with Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus is a testament to their investment in our youth. We are so fortunate to have their unending support.
